Filmmakers Jeff Chan & Andrew Rhymer have made a single take short film that is so instantly engaging that I have to tell myself again and again that a serious amount of hard work must have gone into making this look as effortless as it does.
Michel Gondry was one of the treasures of music video-inspired filmmaking in the early part of this century. I even got his autograph many years ago. I haven’t been that impressed with his recent attempts at magic realism but this short film is a fresh treasure that leads me to wonder, “Is Michel Gondry back?” I hope so.
This is a great example of a high concept single location short film that does so much with a tiny space and an expressive actor. Nice work Edward Lomas.
This is a sweet film that will leave you with a smile when it is over.
