Kyle Andrews – Great Big Life
I discovered this song on Deer Head Music’s Indie Mixtape Nashville and loved its energy. Our playlists have featured a lot of cool electronica these past few weeks but sometimes you just want a good old singalong and this song fits the bill.
Jason Mraz – The Remedy (I Won’t Worry)
A dizzy-making singalong if there ever was one – all that rapid-fire verse letting go into a big belting chorus. I hadn’t heard this song in a while but listening to it again reminds me of why it was so much fun to sing.
Def Leppard – When Love And Hate Collide
Remember teenage angst and rock ballads and how well they went together? This one was particularly good. It demands cigarette lighters, swaying from side-to-side and hysterically out-of-your-league high note hitting.
Billy Joel – Piano Man
Solid and classic but also very good for some drunken singing. La la lalalaaaaa! You know what I’m talking about.
Trisha Yearwood feat. Don Henley – Walkaway Joe
No singalong is complete without a country song and this one, very popular when we first got music television on cable, deserves a fresh listen. And look who plays “Walkaway Joe” – a 23-year-old Matthew McConaughey! It appears this was his first big on-screen appearance.
