Derek Trucks

Tedeschi Trucks Band – Midnight In Harlem
We watched the Tedeschi Trucks Band perform this song live in Mumbai at the Mahindra Blues festival this February and this was my favourite song from their set.

Kenny Loggins – Footloose
Did you watch Kevin Bacon’s very cool Footloose entrance to The Tonight Show? It’s the 30th anniversary of the movie and its title song is as awesome as ever.

Hot Chocolate – Every 1’s A Winner
I discovered this cool song in the film Frances Ha. Best thing about the movie for me.

M83 – I Need You (Divergent OST)
If you haven’t watched Divergent yet, you should. One of the many things I liked about the film was this song by French electronica duo M83.

Slash and Myles Kennedy – Sweet Child O’ Mine (Acoustic)
If you grew up in India in the ’90s, chances are you will classify this song as “overplayed”. It’s not that you don’t like it, it’s just that your ears have grown used to how incredible that riff is. This version makes it worth listening to all over again. Singer/guitarist Myles Kennedy owns the vocal performance and that is no easy task on this one. Slash, is as insanely cool as ever. When he casually promises, “This is our last song. We’ll make it a good one”, he’s not kidding.
