The Weekly Playlist - London Grammar

Stromae – Alors On Danse
Aaaa how did I miss this song the first time around! My friend even played it for me when it came out some time in 2010 but I guess I didn’t listen carefully. I recently heard it at an event and it was the best thing about the event. Plus, we’ve recently gone back to being students. We’re studying French – in a classroom and everything! I never thought I’d voluntarily go back to the world of textbooks, exams and homework. This time around I absolutely love it and I work harder than I ever did in school. Sigh. Anyway, enjoy the song and Bonne semaine!

Life In Film – Alleyway (Burberry Acoustic)
Burberry CEO Christopher Bailey’s love for music permeates all aspects of the fashion house’s work including a dedicated platform called the Burberry Acoustic Initiative. This song, by British indie-pop band Life In Film, was selected as the first track to front the Burberry Acoustic initiative. Check it out and go browse the Burberry Acoustic archives for some very interesting tunes.

Gorillaz – Crystalised (The xx Cover)
The xx write such pretty pretty tunes! Damon Albarn and his merry band cover this one in BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge.

Strong (RAC Remix) – London Grammar
Few artists remix a song better than remix collective RAC (their version of Use Somebody by Kings Of Leon is aces). London Grammar’s Strong, one of my favourite songs of last year, gets the RAC treatment in this very good mix.

Club Kuru – All The Days
London-based producer/songwriter Laurie Erskine offers up this as what appears to be his debut as Club Kuru. We’re very intrigued and looking forward to more.
