Conversation That Inspires

It was a funny set of circumstances.

On the night of ShekWarya’s (you say AbhiAsh, I say ShekWarya) wedding, we were hanging out with Vivek Oberoi.

Yeah, not that one.

This is a new friend and he looks pretty battered every time the topic of his name comes up. I know what that feels like since I’ve been listening to bad jokes about my name, all my life. Truth be told, I have little sympathy for a man who’s dealt with crap about his own name for a mere six-to-eight years.

But I digress…

So we’re hanging out at Hard Rock Café and it’s all good. Cold beer and loud rock music. They don’t make songs like that anymore. Which is not to say that there won’t be pretentious revivals in a few years. Seeing as bands are already trying to sound like Led Zeppelin (*cough*Wolfmother*cough*!), it shouldn’t be long before the Def Leppard/Gun N’ Roses sound-alikes attempt to rule the air-waves…

Y’know what? I digressed again!

We were talking about this vacation/shopping destination we enjoy visiting and he was telling us he hated it because there was ‘nothing to do’ there. And then he said the only place of interest worth visiting was a building where they had all kinds of prostitutes on four floors.

“Four floors of whores…,” I said.

And right then I knew I was going to write a short story set in such a place.

Et Voila!
