Attack Alert

I can safely say that I am now 100% familiar with the experience of a panic attack. I’m sure I use this term loosely – my degree in psychology reminds me that since I did not suffer from any nausea, dizziness or parasthesias during these episodes, it was probably just an intense freak out that I shouldn’t clump with a genuine illness… but still, it is terrifying and I feel like I’m being attacked, so…

Sunday Shorts

E and I decided some time ago to make a short film every weekend. We’re very committed to improving our craft. Really. But we’re also committed to earning a living. With work just piling up, the week always became one big blur and the opportunity of having a weekend free, much less to make short films in never presented itself.

Bring

E, in a moment of acute frustration, came up with what to me is the perfect visual to describe the experience of putting your work out there – you launch it into the world, then step back and crouch with your hands covering your ears and eyes tightly shut.

The shrapnel of feedback is something you could deal with if it meant that it brought some information on how not to get fired at the next time. But when you’re finding your feet, it can be really hard to keep going when all you get is ambiguous negativity.

You Should Be An Actor

It is a challenge every single day to wake up and have to write a short story. But that is the challenge I set myself when I began 365Fiction. Starting today, I will attempt to share some of the process, the DVD extras if you will, for the stories where the spark of inspiration comes about in interesting ways.

As usual, I was trolling the Internet for news, inspiration and something to spur me on for the day (more on that some other time) when I chanced upon this article.
